*After the 3-way tie breaker process determines the highest seeded team, the tie breaker then goes back to the 2-team tie breaker process.
Penalties / Tie Breakers
Penalties are awarded as Penalty Shots (no rebounds). NO CHASING. Face-offs will follow in zone or at center depending on result of the penalty shot.
· Offsides are blown down as in regular hockey. There are no offsides in U7 (2019) and U8 (2018) to keep the speed of the game up.
· No Icings in any age division.
· No Body Checking in any age division.
· Change on the fly for all age divisions.
· When a goal is scored, the team must all wait on the other side of the center ice line until the team has taken the puck out of the net and the referee gives an indication that they can attack the zone.
· Regular face offs for the rest of the play.
· Mercy Rule: If a team is losing by 5 goals or more, they can put a 4th player on the ice until they get back to a 3-goal difference. The team then goes back to 3 players. The Mercy Rule is to make games more competitive and allow everyone to have fun.
· No time outs in any games this includes round robin, playoffs or finals.
· No overtime / shootouts unless it is a final (Gold medal game).
· If the final game ends in a tie, there will be an immediate 5-person shootout. After 5 different players have shot and it is still tied, the process then goes to a sudden death shoot out (1 shot for 1 shot). A different player must be used until all players have shot in the shootout process before re-using the same player.

· The tournament director reserves the right to expel any parent, coach, manager, or player for abusive or offensive behavior.
